Important information about the health of the Great Barrier Reef

Education

The Reef Biosearch staff have an active involvement in school, community and industry education. This generally centres on environmental education with an emphasis on the Great Barrier Reef.

Interpretation

To cater for visitors to the Great Barrier Reef who want to learn about what they are seeing, marine biologists are included as crew onboard the Quicksilver vessels running to the Outer Reef and Low Isles.

Preservation

Reef Biosearch conducts research and environmental monitoring programs on the Great Barrier Reef. We provide a consultation and advisory role to the reef management authorities; such as GBRMPA, Dept of Environment (EPA) and The CRC Reef Research Centre.
